Our trip today will be a long 180kms journey. As we are avoiding hwy QL1, we are taking the smaller hwys that cuts through rural towns along the way.
As we are leaving Buon Ma Thuot, we encountered even more dense field with the yellow butterflies . Its really fairytale seeing so many floating around us.

Other than its beauty, it actually very difficult riding through them. It’s very painful when we can’t avoid colliding. It’s freaky when one somehow flies through the crack between the visor and the helmet, trapped inside the helmet right in your face.
A well deserved break when feeling sleepy, goes well with energy drinks
We arrived Pleiku by 430, much sooner than we initially thought. Since Pleiku was just possible stop when we set our goal north, we decided to continue and head to Kom Tom that is a mere 50kms away. At the pace that we are doing today, easily under an hour, arriving an hour before sunset.
The section FROM Pleiku to Kom Tom is one of the most difficult of the 2300kms we rode. We didn’t expect so much construction along the way. There are huge sections of very muddy and slippery single lane for both directions of traffic.
See trucks locking the rear tires, mud flying everywhere, Black Sole become muddy feet today.
Bike deserves a good wash tomorrow.
