Going to be a long day today. Heading to Yongding famous earth towers,  then going to try and take a over night train to Guangzhou.

Started today late as I couldnt sleep last night. So ending up catching a late train to Longyan, one of the closest city with reasonable train commute. It’s funny it takes 5hrs more if train directly to Yongding. While it is only an hr drive from Longyan to Yongding..

Xiamen to Longyan: 1.5 hrs
Xiamen to Yongding: 6.5 hrs

Since I had to wait over 1.5 hours for the next train leaving Xiamen, I had this craving for meat. Usually those $2 noodles, $2 hotpot never have enough meat. I’m kinda worry I’ll start losing too much weight again. Especially going to Longyan, doubt I’ll find anything good to eat other than veggie noodles..

So couldn’t pass on a steak lunch for $8…

Update:
I didn’t make it to the earth towers Tulou until 7pm. By the time I got there, it’s too late and dark to see anything.  Not having a plan makes it somewhat interesting. The bus driver managed to arrange a room for me to stay,  above a Chinese tea shop for $80 rmb ($13cdn). Things seems to work out…

Since I am in the middle of nowhere, finding any hot food will very happy. Had a couple bowls of hot noodles

What is interesting is what they offer here.  This place offers RAT meat on rice. Kinda tempted to order and see if it tastes like chicken.
