We checked out a couple of local motorcycle tours to gives us an idea what to do around Da Lak. Unfortunately, most cannot be located online, so we don't have a clue where to ride to.
We rode around the area, got lost along the lumber roads.
The mountain roads here are really good for motorcycle. There is no traffic, just pure mountain scenery and twisty mountain roads. A biker's fairyland
Rain clouds comes and goes very commonly in the this area. Its actually very beautiful if you dont get soak.
We figure a good pass time, play a game of chess while waiting for rain...
For the Epic trip, I've started to map the route the roads we are taking. Ive always wanted to have the whole trip mapped, but didnt have to opportunity to really look into it. Google seems to have offer something that will work. Will try keeping this as up to date as possible. Finding good internet connection has always been THE challenge.

Also, Ive started using Google Latitude, with a third party app Backitude that will update my current location once per hour. As long it doesn't drain to much of the phone battery, it will be interesting for those that wants...
We were having a quick lunch just before heading to Da Lak. When we were about ready to head off, around 12:30, a massive rain cloud came in.
We waited for the massive downpour to stop. When the clouds cleared, we started heading off north. We constantly try to see where the clouds are heading, hoping we would be ahead of it for clear sky. On our right, there was a huge black cloud chasing us as we were heading north.
We were able to head very far north without encountering rain. We were roughly 30 kms away from Da Lak, we saw this massive dark rain cloud pouring just...
Met a biker awhile back in Saigon. He was riding the south part of Vietnam, between the area of Da Lak and Saigon. He mentioned there is a great bike route I should not miss.
He suggested from Miu Ne, take the road north to Da Lak. Was the suggested route an awesome ride. It reminds me why I've always love motorcycling.
Near Phan Thiết, we started slow through local roads, where they have hardly ever seen a foreigner. Our bikes and our clothes stands out. One wearing a tank top with golden long hair, while other full bike gear in the intense heat. We can see eyes watching...
Phan Thiết is only a short ride to the resort beach of Miu Ne. The beach use to be a hidden gem, but now days it's the weekend retreat to expats from Saigon.
As we arrive into the resort strip next to the Miu Ne beach, you will start to see a lot of signs in English. Signs with brand names foreigners are accustomed to. Everything here is for tourist.
F.G and I are not very impressed. As this resort is like every other around the world. Maybe we both have been on the road for so long that we are only looking for the local experience. Something that makes Miu Ne, only in Miu Ne.
As we ride...
