Today is the eve of Chinese New Year. Everyone is celebrating with family and relatives. As much as I wish to be with them, it is overly crowded to travel during this period in Asia. Eventhough Cambodia has a minority Chinese population, I've been told by locals it'd best to avoid Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and the islands off Sihanoukville, as the hotels are fully booked. Not even going to try and imagine traveling in countries like Vietnam or china, where the entire country celebrates today.
Living on the beach is unusually relaxing. I haven't done much today, yet time just flied by. Not sure...
After being on the road for so long, finally will have some beach vacation. Decide to leave Phnom Penh eventhough only been here just the night. Will be joining my swiss friend and head to the south part of Cambodia, Beach Otres near party town Sihanoukville. Will probably stay there for a few days, relax, chill, and possibly work on some long overdue photos from Europe.
The bus ride should be a simple connection between the Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. The tour bus company advertised as an 4 hours ride, Google estimated 3.? for the short ride by car. Somehow, I wasn't surprised it took a good...
Decided to head for Phnom Penh, and meet up a friend for dinner. Kinda absorb enough of the Angkor temples. Might not have much excitement for the next couple of days. Will be looking into getting the Vietnam Visa done, and possibly head to the south for some beach Vacation.

Spend the better half of the day with him. As we were both taking a day break from the Wat(temples). We managed to find a hotel nearby, that offered swimming pool access as long a drink is purchased. Beer as cheap as 75 cents! We are heading back tomorrow after checking out the sunrise at Angkor Wat.
As we spoke, he mentioned about purchasing a motorcycle in Vietnam....
My new travel friend J.C and I decided to check out Banteay Srei, that's about 32 kms from Siem Reap. As no motorcycle can be rent by foreigners, we were hoping to ride bicycle there. Ending up we took the tuk tuk instead, as it did seem a bit far under the dreadful sun.
As we started off from the city, I asked the tuk tuk driver to bring us to a place to eat. For some reason, he didn't stop to a restaurant until we were well into the Angkor Wat area. Where prices are inflated for tourist. $6 for a fried rice, while something similar can be had for $1.25. He assured me there is nothing...
