Finally after so many days living on the beach, it's time to continue the jaunt.
Just bought my tomorrow's ticket to Saigon, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I'm a little worry about this bus trip. It's a 2 part journey. 1st part starts with a mini van to the border, then 2nd part is a bus from Ha Tien to Saigon. The advertisement shows a nice sleeper bus for part 2 of the journey. But did some research after purchasing my ticket. Someone on TripAdvisor indicated its a scam, back in March 2012. It was a small mini bus that picks them up instead, and passengers are drop off pretty far from the city...
Woke up to the calm sounds of the waves. Feels so well rested here. It is a well deserve place to rest the mind. There isn't much to do other than relax and soak up the sun. It's really peaceful compare to anywhere I have been. There are no more tuk tuk drivers asking if you need a ride every 20 steps along the road, nor boys bringing a tray of fake Ray Ban sunglasses, nor ladies trying to sell you fruits or massage on the beach. It's simply undisturbed peace...
We explored the other side of the islands by mid afternoon, just a short 30 minutes walk down the trail. The other side of the island...
Made it to the island of Koh Rong Salem, about 20 kms west of Otress beach. This place is even better than Otress.
You are completely outside civilization. All there is a nice bungalow right by the beach, and far from others. There is a lot more personal space than the one we had in Otress beach.
The sunset is amazing, but it's at night when it truly comes to life.
As you swim, you see this glow around your body. As you body cuts through the water, it creates a trail of lights. Little dots of green luminous plankton glowing near you skin, possible hundreds of them just near...
Today we finally went out of the Otress beach area. It's been so long already that we almost forgot about civilization. It's was really good to just mellow down by the beach the last few days.
Rented a scooter for $6 bucks, we then rode around Sihanoukville. Checked out the tourist spot of Serendipity Rd, cruise along the coast line all the way to Victory Beach.
Before all the nice cruising, we got pulled over by cop twice once we made it into Sihanoukville town center. Got pulled over just because I looked like a tourist on a scooter. Cambodian usually wears long sleeves even in the crazy...
Been another relaxing day at the beach. Time just flies when you are not doing anything. The Otress Beach has been very relaxing, has a very lay back atmosphere. Unlike most beach resort locations I've been, this beach is minimal with tourist. Kinda like a hidden gem.
Saw a few water activities that I would to try. Been looking at the kiteboarding school just a few steps away from our bungalow. It would be so cool to learn it, and fly on water. But $240 for 3 days lessons is out of my cash budget at the moment.
Instead, I booked a 5 hours windsurfing rental. Only managed to do just over...
