I haven't gone to the Mekong Delta yet. Been spending too much time reading about it, and not actually doing it. As the Mekong river splits just before making into the china sea, been having a hard time deciding which city I would like to stay and view the famous floating market.
The Mekong stretches from the Himalayas, going through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and finally south Vietnam near Can Tho.
Trying to find a place where it is still very authentic, not build for tourism. From the books I've researched, Vinh Long might be a good location, can do homestay with the locals. Another great...
Picked up my 2nd bike today, another honda win 110cc bike. Did a couple of hours ride around HCMC, the bike feels solid eventhough the exterior could use some touch up.
Danh from Saigon Minsk really took care of everything, including changing the front tire to a new one for $10 bucks. I feel pretty confident with this bike, as it will be reliable enough to get me through Vietnam, possibly Laos and north Cambodia.
The test ride tonight is good enough for me to try a short trip outside of HCM. Decided to go west and check out the Mekong Delta for a few days, and try making back...
Went to pick up the bike today. It was an hour away from Quan 1 by bus. Got there by noon as agreed. When we arrived, they probably just started working on the electrical. They haven't had the time to really iron out all issues to make it trip ready. Didn't even crank the engine for the 1st time till I got there.
Upon arrival, I immediately notice the front tires is getting bald. The British owner Kevin instantly try to over come my opinion by stating that it is not illegal to ride in Vietnam with tire condition like that.
His attitude completely changed from the day when...
After 299 days, finally encounter someone that will have a live performance in the dormroom. As discreet as they try to be, it still makes a lot of noise.
Tossing and turning didn't stop the performance. It sucks to be waken up by it. Cause its impossible to fall back to sleep. Almost wanted to grab my camera flash, and blast a few shots into the room. Wonder if they will be shocked or actually be a sexual turn on.
Ending up waking up, walk pass them to go to the washroom. That stopped the performance. Only if they are super hot, maybe then I won't mind a live show.
Well, epic trip will be happening soon. Just put down a deposit for the typical Honda Win. It just been overhaul, and the rewire electrical will be done on Monday.
But I'm still thinking if I should pay 60% for the Honda 67 classic. It is so beautiful! Will be so cool just doing a shoot with it. I will have till Monday to decide.
Mechanically , both bikes are the same. As the Honda 67 has an engine upgrade, from original 50cc to the Honda Win 100cc engine. Tire size, parts, tranny are all common and similar. So won't have an issue finding parts if the bike breaks down along...
