Day 57: leaving Athens

Was in Athens for a couple of days. After meeting up with my friend E.T, we decided to travel around Greece and Italy, and skip Istanbul Turkey. In Greece, we are going to hit Delphi, Olympia, then Patra. After that, will ferry to Italy from Greece. Spend a week in Italy, before going to Spain for the bull run.

As we are leaving Athens,we are so glad we did. Although it is one of the 1st civilization cities in the world, at the moment it feels really behind. Just coming from north of eastern Europe, such as Poland, Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria, Greece has been my least favorite. The city of Athens seems dangerous, too many wanderers, people having nothing to do other than waiting on the streets. Many empty shops around the downtown center, some building even seems abandoned.

As we were leaving this morning, a stranger pointed us to walk back the way we come from. The stranger was just sitting there, a wanderer with nothing to do, but knew something was about to happen. As we walk back to where we came from, we looked back. We then saw a bunch of people running out of the subway station, a very loud noise echoing behind. The first thought that comes to mind, someone is being robbed.
