Salzburg is known to be the town of Wolfgang Mozart. We have all heard of his work. He is a musical genius. Google Mozart..??
Salzburg is where he spend his childhood before moving to Vienna. The town is charming as those along the romantic road. What set this one apart is the history of Mozart. We visited one of the two Mozart museums, both used to be mozart’s home. You will find that genius are not well paid at those time. Its a fairly expensive town, staying one night should be adequate.
However, we spent 2 nights in Salzburg, so we had an extra day to do something. We heard of the world largest ice cave just an hour drive south of Salzburg. The photos looked amazing. They have a cable cart going up the mountain for those not wishing to hike. Near the top, they carved a tunnel through a mountain so those wishing to take the shorter route, can shave 15 mins from the scenic route. The amount of money invest to make this a tourist attraction is astonishing. These sets high expectation for the ice cave.
No cameras allow in the cave, I can respect that. Even with the best camera, the fastest lens, you won’t be able to capture anything. If you ever go to McD, BK, Wendy’s, or any fast food chain. And order the meal base on the picture you saw, you get a sense of disappointment when you receive your meal.
The same thought comes up when we entered the cave. It’s a huge cave that is completely dark, with lots of ice. That’s about it. What happened to illuminate it properly??
Oh, they get pretty piss if you try take a picture even with a camera phone. So don’t even bother
Fantasia is the hotel we stayed at. Nothing fancy, nice clean and modern should sum it up.
