After so many days in Saigon, the trip finally begins. F.G managed to find a 2nd bike, with a partial refund on his 1st lemon. So worth waiting the extra day or so for him. We planned to start the trip right after lunch, but we didn’t get ready until around 2:30 pm. There was one more thing we were trying to do before the long ride to Ho cốc, was to fill up some gas.
However, on the way out of Saigon, before finding any gas stations, one of the three bikes ran out of gas on a very long stretch highway with nothing in sight. One of us went as far as we can, trying to ask for the nearest gas station. Simply pointing at the tank, the seller at the drink cart instantly understood we are looking for gas. He instantly grab a frosted clear color bottle of gasoline with a funnel, trying to refill my tank.
It took a long time trying to explain my buddy that needs gas is stranded far behind us. Once they understood, he simply said no and wave us away. Apparently his bottle of gasoline and funnel can not be on short term loan.
At the end, we found a gas station not too far away with a quick search on google map. It is so useful..
We didn’t make it to Ho Coc by the time day light ran out. We settled in some small town near Long Hai, a budget hotel near the beach. A few of us are on stretch budget, as we all started traveling since last summer. We got a room with a bed,one of is was suppose to sleep on the floor. But ending up sharing a bed with 2 dudes. Never again we said.
